The Orting Food Bank was started in 2007 by a handful of volunteers to meet the needs of the hungry in Orting! The Orting Food Bank is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization and is 100% volunteer run! Since 2007, the Orting Food Bank has been committed to collecting food and other household items and distributing them to those in need.

In 2007, the Orting Food Bank distributed over 47,000 pounds of food; in 2010, we distributed 112,717 pounds of food; and the end of 2011 we had distributed over 230,000 pounds to those in need!

The Orting Food Bank has found its permanent home! After a year of hard work we have purchased the old Powers building in Orting. We are very fortunate to recieve a CBDG block grant through Pierce County awarding us enough funds to purchase this building for the Orting community! After working out of a small contractor trailer with no heat, no bathroom, no protection from the weather for the last 4 years, we started serving clients January 2, 2012 in our new home!!!
